Q: Something is eating the leaves of my crocosmia and taking them away. Now, it has eaten all of my green clematis vines, leaving the Nelly Moser alone!
Any suggestions?
We live above the marina at Fisherman’s Cove in West Vancouver. While this is the first “invasion” we’ve ever had, we do have a raccoon that visits from time to time.
Thanks.
Based on the description, it could either be nocturnal caterpillars, such as climbing cutworms or earwigs. While caterpillars are easy to handpick in the evening with a flashlight, earwigs are best trapped using rolled up newspaper that is discarded in the morning.
