This Kits movie theatre has it all—a wide array of indie films, real butter and cozy love seats.
Hidden away on busy Burrard St, Fifth Avenue Cinemas is a crowd favourite
Along with Vancouver’s Ridge and the Park movie theatres, Fifth Avenue Cinemas is independently owned and operated by Festival Cinemas. Every type of film fan visits this theatre for its broad spectrum of (mostly independent) titles.

Movies range greatly and include independents, festival films, Hollywood blockbusters and foreign films.
Get there early on the weekends if you want to snag a good seat—Fifth Ave is a crowd favourite, and the lineups don’t lie. The theatre houses five screens, one of which is slightly larger with balcony seating. All five have the famous “love seats” with armrests that raise up to make one big seat for cuddling.
Just like its sister theatres, Fifth Avenue offers student rates, real butter on their popcorn and a concession stand with baked goods. Cheap, buttery and pastry filled, just how I like my movies.
