The intrepid interviewer gets his vinyl fix.
Lately, I have been thinking a lot about Scratch Records in Vancouver. Over the years, I have loved to hang out there and buy records, magazines and most importantly, learn about new and old bands. I have even interviewed touring musicians at Scratch. The one that really stands out was with Andrew W.K., when he actually bled for me! No joke. Check the blood (and Scratch) out here.
Scratch has recently set up shop at its new location at 1 E Hastings St, marking the third time it has moved in 23 years. When I visited the other day, the shop was being manned by Ryan from the wonderful Vancouver band The B-lines, who, in the proud tradition of Scratch, pointed me to the incredible selection of local vinyl releases.
I couldn’t be happier, and Vancouver should be happy as well to have a such a long-running independent record store rawkin’ in the free world. Doot doo!
