For Dine Out Vancouver, Hawksworth throws a special dinner in their enchanting private York Room
This year for Dine Out Vancouver, Hawksworth decided to run a “best of Hawksworth” theme, so customers could get an extremely satisfying example of what the restaurant has offer.
A nice bonus for their “Side Dishes” event was that it was held in the York Room at the Hotel Georgia, a beautiful dining hall that evokes the spirit of the 1920s, with dazzling chandeliers and captivating artwork. It was a nice added touch that provided something new for those who’ve eaten at Hawksworth but had never seen the private dining room. Guests were set up communal-style at two long dining tables that held around 30 people each.
Once everyone had taken their seats, dinner began. Each dish was accompanied by an appropriate wine pairing, which added to the “special event” atmosphere, as well as my own personal happiness.
While the menu was slated for three courses, an extra dish courtesy of the chef was presented. Here’s a look at that night’s menu.
Pairing: 2011 Fritz Haag Riesling Trocken, Mosel, Germany
Our surprise special dish.
Wine pairing: 2012 Okanagan Valley Gewurztraminer, Okanagan Valley, Canada
Wine pairing: 2000 Château de Ricaud Loupiac, France
