The Cheaper Show enables wider audiences to afford art from established stars and emerging new artists
Get original artwork for a bargain at The Cheaper Show
If you’ve always wanted to adorn your walls with original artwork from contemporary stars of the local and international art scene but have been limited to print reproductions, The Cheaper Show is your chance to pick up important works for, well, cheap.
With the goal of making art accessible to everyone, The Cheaper Show not only offers original art in a variety of disciplines at affordable rates, but does it at a by-donation event in a massive venue, with a limit of three pieces per person, so everyone who wants to can attend, find their favourite pieces and have a fair chance at acquiring them without breaking the bank.
Admission to The Cheaper Show is by donation. $5 is recommended, but $10+ gets you free entry to the official after parties at The Astoria, The Biltmore and Fortune Sound Club.

Four hundred pieces by 200 artists ranging from the emerging to the established from across Canada and beyond will be featured in the show. All art is $200, a drastically reduced rate for most of the artists, who in turn receive wider exposure to a new audience.
You can get a sneak peek of the art that awaits on The Cheaper Show website, and come prepared with cash and transport for your newly acquired wall adornments.
Based on the success of previous Cheaper Show events, organizers are expecting 7,000–10,000 attendees this year, so get there early. That said, with this year’s venue change to the 30,000 square-foot W2 Storyeum space, lines may not be as long as in years past (often snaking around the block).

W2 Storyeum, 151 West Cordova St, Vancouver
