We're showcasing Vancouver's best restaurants and special menu items—and why they should be your next meal
Restaurant: Honey Salt
Location: 39 Smithe Street, Vancouver
The Dish: The Après Ski menu
The Details: Skip the slopes and head straight to Honey Salt to indulge in their après ski offerings. The super-fun (and shareable) menu features: Cheese Fondue (pictured above) with Gruyère and Emmental cheese, sourdough bread, Gala apples, Cremini mushrooms, Two Rivers pork sausage and assorted pickles for dipping (half pot $29; full pot $59); a rich French Onion Soup ($14) with sweet onion, a blend of three cheeses and crouton; Tourtière Quebecois ($24) with beef and pork, apple watercress salad and tomato jam; plus, a Mountain Tartiflette ($21) with Fou du Roy cheese, Yukon potatoes, streaky bacon and caramelized onions.
For dessert, warm up with the Dark Chocolate Fondue ($19, pictured below) with shortbread cookies, fresh fruit and house-made marshmallows (so good!). Plus, get your insides tingling with ski-resort-themed feature cocktails including: a Cinnamon Old Fashioned ($17) with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Angostura Bitters and pear cinnamon syrup; a Bourbon Maple Cider ($16) with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, ginger syrup, maple syrup, hot apple cider and fresh cracked pepper; the Après Tea Toddy ($15) with St. Remy Signature, honey, cloves, vanilla and black tea; and the Volcan Hot Chocolate ($20) with Volcan Reposado Tequila, almond milk, chocolate sauce, marshmallow and cinnamon.
The Après Ski menu is available from 3 p.m. to close, Sunday through Thursday.
