West Elm Opens in South Granville

American home furnishings and decor store West Elm opened its second Canadian location in a 13,000-square-foot space in South Granville. West Elm’s fall collection, like most of its products, is heavily influenced by design and cultures from around the world – in this case, South Africa’s premiere artisans. City dwellers will appreciate the furniture pieces designed for condo living.

Emco Opens in Burnaby

Canadian distributor Emco has opened its latest Ensuite Bath and Kitchen showroom in Burnaby. A longtime destination for industry professionals, Emco showrooms feature high-quality brands such as Kohler, Brizo and Luxart. This bright new space is wrapped in glass and white walls that put the focus on the products, and it features enough faucets to flood the Nile.

IDSwest Showcases Decor and Design Trends Sept. 27-30

With over 350 exhibits, IDSwest is your passport to a world of avant-garde design, expert tips and hot new products. HGTV’s Sarah 101 design darling Tommy Smythe will be bringing his bowties and delightfully dry wit to this year’s show, sharing his tricks of the trade and style insight. New for 2012, the One of a Kind District features a wide range of handcrafted items from 60 different designers.

Vancouver Home + Design Show Offers Design Inspiration Oct. 11-14

Visit the Vancouver Home + Design Show from October 11 to 14 for expert tips and design inspiration, or just revel in the celebrity appearances. Catch Leave It to Bryan star Bryan Baeumler and Love It or List It Vancouver design host Jillian Harris on the HGTV main stage. Other anticipated attractions include free 10-minute consultations at the Ask a Decorator booth with Christine Friend of Friendly Decorator; Something Borrowed, Something Bloomed, for discovering inventive new ways to arrange your florals; and the Cook Like a Pro stage with top local chefs.
