How toxic are trumpet flowers?

Q: Are trumpet flowers only toxic when consumed? If I do cuttings inside the house, will the toxins become airborne and cause harm?

While I couldn’t find anything that specifically confirmed that the toxins would not become airborne, I did come across this article which specifically states that the plant becomes toxic when it is ingested – indicating that the plant needs to be broken down to have detrimental effects.

Some toxins, like those associated with poison ivy, can become airborne if the plant is burned.
