Back in March I inoculated a 25-foot row of King Stropharia mushrooms (a.k.a. Wine caps or Garden Giant) in my garden. (See blog for end of March). This is the result three months later. I have since harvested four bunches of mushrooms like this, which will go on producing for three years, thriving in moist warm soil.
They are similar to Portabello mushrooms, but with a softer texture. I gently sautéed them in olive oil, with minced garlic and a good dash of Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Simply delicious!
