Every garden needs some care but these good landscaping decisions will help you spend more time relaxing in your garden and less time working.

  1. Create an area where you can sit and relax, preferably one that is covered with gravel or some other permeable surface that allows water to enter the soil.
  2. Choose plants with natural shapes, sizes and rates of growth that suit the site, climate and soil conditions.
  3. Plant flowers in containers. They can be cared for easily and then moved out of view when they pass their prime. That’s much easier than deadheading a huge perennial border.
  4. Grow groundcovers that need a once-a-year mow after blooming instead of a traditional lawn that needs mowing every week.
  5. Install an automatic watering system that cares for plants when you can’t.
  6. With limited maintenance you will be able to keep your garden looking clean and welcoming.
