This heirloom French beefsteak tomato should be good, it’s named after a major tomato producing region in southwestern France, where 100,000 people attend a Tomato Fiesta each July that pays homage to the tomato!

‘Marmande’ easily lives up to its reputation by being early ripening in a cool year, and one of the most productive and delicious tomatoes in the garden. ‘Marmande’ is a large, meaty ribbed tomato of superb flavour, which produces few seeds, so it’s great for fresh eating in salads and for sandwiches. The plants needed sturdy stakes to support the weight of a lot of heavy fruit!
