In some gardens featuring plants grown by the early settlers, flowers such as poppies and marigolds have precedence in front yards, while in others, they mingle and bloom among the cabbages, beets and beans.

The Cultural Village was opened in the 1980s and over the years the gardens have changed to better reflect the crops and flowers grown by Ukrainians living in the area.
