We’re crushing hard on Kate Spade’s signature style for the home
Kate Spade Saturday’s signature bright prints have arrived at West Elm for a special collection of furniture, bedding and home accessories.
BCLiving got the inside scoop on the collaboration from Kate Spade’s senior vice president Kyle Andrew. Click through for a Q&A and a look at everything from prints to pillows to poufs.
“Saturday is everyone’s favourite day of the week and we believe in the spirit of Saturday, seven days a week. We wanted to channel this feeling in the home by designing a collection that was stylish but still casual. The design features some tried-and-true prints, like the graphic windowpane and the colourful abstract paint prints that we’ve used in fashion pieces, re-imagined for the home.”
“The Kate Spade Saturday girl has an eye for style and design, but she doesn’t sacrifice function, and the collection is designed with that in mind. The collection features a range of products including bedding, wall art, storage solutions and furniture – all of these pieces serve an everyday purpose while making a statement in a room.”
“Both brands share some core DNA – like the use of bright colours, bold prints and graphic designs. Kate Spade Saturday is younger and more casual than Kate Spade New York. Kate Spade Saturday has a more laid-back vibe.”
“There is a sleek black steel clothing rack that we all love. Most of the girls on our team live in NYC and know it is hard to find stylish storage solutions for a small space. It is a piece that functions, but also looks great in a room. There are some great statement pieces in the collection like wall art and printed throw pillows, easy pieces that can make a big impact on a room.”
Find the Kate Spade Saturday collection at Vancouver’s West Elm, 2947 Granville Street, Vancouver or online here. Before you shop, check out this video for a full tour of the collection.
