Vancouver’s Newest Hotel and Most Glamorous Getaway

The EXchange Hotel combines rich local history with a luxurious 21st century setting

The EXchange Hotel combines rich local history with a luxurious 21st century setting

Offering a sophisticated and contemporary escape from the ordinary—and the hustle and bustle of downtown Vancouver’s financial district, Executive Hotel and Resorts’ latest revelation, the new, world class luxury hotel, the EXchange Hotel Vancouver, has taken up residence in the original Vancouver Stock Exchange, which once played host to the city’s most illustrious and creative minds.

Given the EXchange’s historical and architectural significance, it was necessary for Swiss-based firm Harry Gugger Architects, whose portfolio includes Beijing’s iconic “Bird’s Nest” stadium, to marry the building’s rich, art-deco character with a more modern flair. The result is a stunning design, featuring a 32-storey pin-striped curtain wall and the immaculately preserved 1909 façade.

The inspired architecture extends itself to the hotel’s 202 rooms, suites and studios. Every room in the EXchange features custom wall art murals, in-laid herringbone hardwood floors and gorgeous marble bathrooms. Each room and suite also boast luxury amenities, imported linens and indulgent products from L’Occitane. The exclusive Dividend Floor offers high-end design and impeccable views with an enclosed private rooftop court featuring greenery walls. Fully indulge and relax knowing your stay helps our planet; the hotel is proud of its title as Vancouver’s first LEED Platinum Heritage Conversion.

The EXchange offers select venues for a variety of events and celebrations, ranging from a semi-private dining room, The Cabana, to The Mezzanine, which is perfect for larger gatherings and comes complete with a beautiful private patio, to the immaculate Townley Studio, 1,400-square-foot space showcasing stunning oak hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and state of the art audio-visual capabilities.

The EXchange is also home to on-trend eateries: Hydra Estiatorio Mediterranean, a stylish bar and restaurant named after the famed Greek island, as well as the Hydra Café, a gorgeous, mirrored coffee bar modelled after The Philosophers Library in Greece. Both are set to open this month.

The EXchange marries the traditional with the modern, offering guests an inspired blend of historic architecture, trendy interior design, luxurious amenities, sustainability and delicious food and drink.

Experience history reimagined.
