Tarragon turkey burgers fresh from the grill

The grills are coming out of hibernation and these easy-to-make turkey burgers are the perfect way to kick off barbecue season.

If you know how to work a wooden spoon, this recipe is for you!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup coarsely shredded zucchini
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1 tbsp fresh (or dried…I use dried) tarragon leaves
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 grinds black pepper
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler or grill.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and shape mixture into patties.
  3. Cook 5 minutes per side or until browned.

I like to cook for 5 minutes on each side, then flip again and add a bit of shredded mozzarella cheese. Once the cheese is melted, I take them off and eat them on whole wheat hamburger buns with mayo and iceberg lettuce.

But nobody here is going to tell you not to smother it in cheddar and stack the pickles high.

How do you enjoy your burgers?
