We're showcasing Vancouver's best restaurants and special menu items—and why they should be your next meal
Restaurant: C|Prime
Location: 1015 Burrard Street, Vancouver
The Dish: The summer menu
The Details: Since executive chef Behshad Zolnasr has taken over the kitchen at C|Prime, this fine-dining restaurant in the Century Plaza hotel has become a true culinary gem in the heart of the city—and the summer menu offerings are yet another reason to book yourself a table. Featuring a selection of new share plates, pastas, steaks, sides and more, you’ll have your choice of fresh seasonal dishes made with local and sustainably sourced ingredients.
For starters, try the refreshing Halibut Niçoise Salad ($24) with a soft-boiled egg, saffron potatoes, house-pickled beans and rosemary vinaigrette. Looking to share? The perfect accompaniment to cool cocktails on a hot day, the charcuterie ($26) features local and import cheeses and meat, the tastiest little pickles and preserves, as well as a lovely selection of breads and bread sticks.
For mains, the super-satisfying Doppio Ravioli ($32) is a must-order, with summer peas, basil, ricotta and brown butter, covered in the most decadent wild mushrooms.
It’s always a good idea to order a steak at C|Prime. This time we went with the 14-oz ribeye ($60) with fries ($11) and smoked honey glaze carrots ($9) on the side. Oh, and don’t forget to get the peppercorn sauce to really take it over the top.
Still need to cool down? For dessert, we recommend ordering the daily feature flavour of house-made gelato.
Available nightly from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
