Beyond the impeccable service and cushy dining room, executive chef Behshad Zolnasris' new seasonal menu is yet another reason to book a reservation at C|Prime
Restaurant: C|Prime
Location: 1015 Burrard Street
The Dish: The fall/winter menu
The Details: As editor of a lifestyle magazine, I get to dine out—a lot. Which means that everyone from my family and friends to my doctors and neighbours frequently ask me which restaurants I recommend. Lately, I have been putting C|Prime Modern Italian Steak & Wine on the top of my list. Beyond the impeccable service and cushy dining room, executive chef Behshad Zolnasris’ new seasonal menu is yet another reason to book a reservation.
“At C|Prime, I’m able to fully explore and express my love of Italian cuisine and pay homage to the steakhouse experiences I had while working in kitchens in New York City,” says Zolnasr.
The dinner selections feature “a mouth-watering selection of prime, hand-picked cuts of beef aged a minimum of 35 days and sourced from top providers across North America as well as antipasti and seafood and modern classics.”
We started with the Prosciutto Burrata (olive purée, arugula, house bread); as well as one of our all-time favourites, the Ahi Tuna Tartare (sesame, soy, avocado, housemade potato crisps). Both appetizers were absolutely delicious and got us excited for what was to come.
For mains, we enjoyed a beautiful Butternut Squash Risotto with sage and walnuts. I have never been disappointed with a pasta dish at C|Prime and also highly recommend the Dungeness Crab Tortellini with crab cream sauce.
It’s a given that you have to order a steak at C|Prime. This time, we enjoyed an exquisite 10 oz Rib Eye from Snake River (add the green peppercorn sauce) with French Fries, Honey-glazed Carrots and Potato Rösti (these are so good) on the side.
And for dessert, we always order the featured flavours of gelato, which are always the perfect finish to an exquisite meal.
C|Prime in the Century Plaza Hotel is open for breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon; for lunch from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; for happy hour from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and for dinner: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
