Local entrepreneurs fill a fashionable void and help up your Instagram game
Since 2017, the editors of BCLiving have been scouring the country to discover high-quality cosmetics, decor and lifestyle products for more than 5000 women across Canada with the Simply Beautiful subscription box.
In the spring of 2018, subscribers gushed over the Gauzy Tassel Scarf and a set of measuring spoons (pictured) in a gorgeous rose-gold tone that were included. Turns out both represent the beginnings of a new retail offering: Vancouver-based Blush Peony.
With a dedication to trends and a keen focus on the sway of fashion, the team behind the small operation pays close attention to colours, motifs and materials that are… well, now.
“There was something we saw missing in the marketplace: a simple, Canadian way to secure accessories and decor products that are both fashionable and practical. We hope it reflects an aspiration we all share to add a little fun—and a whole lot of style—to the everyday,” says the team.
While Blush Peony’s showcase is limited to just four items at this time, more are on the way—and soon.
“We’re really excited about this summer. We have another big surprise coming up in the Simply Beautiful box. It’s a partnership that means a great deal to us because they have been there with us from the start.”
As of now, the Blush Peony offering includes:
- The cotton-linen Gauzy Tassel Scarf in dove grey, the perfect neutral accessory that can also be worn a shawl over a summer dress or romper in the warmer months ahead
- Rose Gold Measuring Spoons, a must-have when styling your Instagram snaps of all your baking escapades
- Fireside Slipper Socks (pictured at end of article), which make a cozy gift for campground cuddles during the summer, and are ideal heading into the fall and winter seasons
- The stunning hammered copper Moscow Mule Mugs (pictured), Blush Peony’s most popular offering so far
The Blush Peony website launched in May and provides social snaps of products—both styled and being put to use by consumers across the country (plus maybe an adorable dog or two).
“We really are drawn to the latest and greatest. We always strive to reflect current tastes, or even stay slightly ahead of the curve, in a sophisticated manner,” explains the team
